[Fixed] Circuit Sword - Micro SD Keeps Ejecting

Hey all,
I just completed my first build with a circuit sword from the latest run. After only having removed the micro SD card a handful of times, the micro SD card will no longer stay in place. When I push it in I can hear and feel a click, but then when I stop pressing on the card it immediately ejects...
The micro SD card is intact and I can't see any debris inside the slot. The card also pushes fully into the slot, and I've tried another micro SD card and had the same problem. I'm worried there is something wrong with the card slot itself.
I found this thread on a related forum (https://raspberrypi.stackexchange.com/q ... ot-on-pi-2) but after all the time and money I've sunk into this thing, I'm a little nervous about modifying the board. If I do removed the spring, would it function as a friction slot, or would the card just fall out...
Any words of advice from Kite and the group would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
