Super AIO v 0.6C1 20170716 software issues

Post by wiggum123 » Sun Jun 16, 2019 3:26 am

Hey all,
I bought Kites SAIO board a while ago and only decided to give it a go the other week. Ive got a pi zero w soldered to it and all the contacts have been soldered on OK (tested each with a multimeter). The versions on the board say v0.6C1 20170716 and the back board is V1.0B 170517.
Issues I am having - A lot of lack of knowledge with the versions of the software and installing the incorrect version. The main issue however is the fact that I cannot seem to get a stable running copy of retropi to boot. I usually get to the controller config stage and then it freezes/crashes or drops to the os where all buttons/plugged in keyboards stop working. If I interrupt the boot before this stage (the only way I've found of doing this is to mash the f4 key when I see the emulation station splash screen) and can use a keyboard there fine.
When it comes to software, I have tried multiple... the ones from https://github.com/kiteretro/Super-AIO, the ones from retropi themselves and followed steps here https://github.com/kiteretro/Super-AIO/ ... lease/saio to install the extra steps.
I then discovered the new Circuit Sword and Circuit Sword Lite. Ive tried the software from the Lite.

What can I do? Is there a specific version of the software I need to run for this board, should I not have used a Pi Zero W, have I messed something up in the install. All the support links in the https://github.com/kiteretro/Super-AIO go to pages that dont exist anymore so I am a little stuck :(

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Re-check the SD soldering and possibly try a new(er) SD card. Also try disabling wifi see if that helps.

The Super-AIO image you linked as the first should be the one to go for

Hey!
Thanks for the super quick reply. Turns out it was the SD card. Or at least thats what its looking like. It was a brand new one but tried an old one and that seems to work fine.
Only issue now is the sound, I get a

Code: Select all

VolumeControl::init() - Failed to find mixer elements!
error and cant seem to get anything out of the speaker or 3.5mm jack. Will do some searching around.
Thanks again for your help, dont know why I didnt try that :/

That error is because ES is compiled to not use USB audio, so you can ignore that message it doesn't mean anything. Does audio work in apps? Does audio test pass in the tester mode?
