How do i know if it detects it as an Arduino PC Controller?
The computer usually says it detected some new hardware or just go to the Control Panel and look at the controller to see if it's there.
I got it to work now using a cut of usb cabel, so it must have had a bad conection befor somwhere.
Thanks for al the help.

hooked up to the Pi, it recognizes the AIO, I can also set the buttons so the arduino is working. I have 2 separate USB wireless cards i am trying, both work in a separate PI(wiuth different hub) but will not work with the AIO hub. I tried editing the cmdline.txt as well as using shielded USB cables, mind you it is only about 1" in length. they both blink once like they are recognized but then never seem to blink again after that and the Pi doesnt see any wifi cards.
any other help?
Try this:
edit /boot/config.txt, add a line "max_usb_current = 1", and reboot.
just did that, no fix.

definitely something with the hub in the AIO, same wifi works in another zero with a different hub with no problem.

No luck this weekend with all the different testing. No matter how I wired it the Pi0 would not recognize the AIO.

So I have a new Pi0 coming in and a USBasp. I'm and hoping it is either I shorted the current Pi0 usb when I soldered the AIO to it (why did they make those pads so d@mn close) or maybe the AIO just needs reprogramming.

Just a quick question, can I power my external usb port from the power strip and still have the data wires on the AIO only other thing that will be hooked up to the AIO is USB wifi.

Hook it up to a pc and see if it's working there and if is then you might need to reinstall th OS. I just had someone with the same problem and he reinstalled the OS and it worked.

WiFi has been an issue yes but if you add the line of code a few posts up I made and the other line in the first post it should work.

The usb hub issue should be fixed on the new AIO 2.0 and as it is now a quick fix can't be done on the 1.4 boards.

I'm working on a work around and will have something maybe 2 weeks from now.

You can power the usb devices from the power strip as long as 5V and GND are all connected through the power strip.

Seems so but Brett82 fixed his by twisting the wires and his wifi worked so not sure to be honest.

Setting the usb mode to 1.1 like in the first post fixed the wifi for most people.

I seem to be having issues with mine not recognizing the controls in retropie. Keyboard works via usb from the hub though...
