[Solved] Audio problem / System reseting problem

Post by MichelleDB » Thu Mar 29, 2018 3:56 am

UPDATE: I ended up finding what the problem with the resets were (bad micro sd card)
Now I'm dealing with some audio issues, the post is right here: https://sudomod.com/forum/viewtopic.php ... 324#p59319

Sorry it took this long to answer, was having some technical issues.

Found the problem, basically the micro sd was damaged and was causing the problems, fixed as soon as I tried with a new card :?

Now I'm kinda stuck with sound, should I open a new thread for that, I'm using Helder's AIO.
It's driving me crazy, even after modifying the config.txt file it still refuses to output any audio.
Tried with both:

Code: Select all

dtoverlay=pwm-2chan,pin=18,func=2,pin2=13,func2=4
And

Code: Select all

dtoverlay=pwm,pin=18,func=2

Please forgive my noob'ish solder and finish, it's my first time doing this kind of stuff :oops:

Hi there,

So I started recently putting my Zero together and I've found myself in a pickle after having to resolder everything when I saw I had the power switch wrong configured for the Power Boost 1000.

Long story short, when I have the micro usb feeding the whole system through the USB and GRD connections on the power boost, the system keeps reseting itself when trying to boot the display, but, if I connect that micro usb to the USB-A connections on the power boost everything works fine.

Any idea what could be the issue here?

Thanks for reading.

Pics will help. I'd double check all the power wiring though. What gauge of wire did you use and everything is soldered nicely? Poor soldering with power connections or too small wire may cause these issues.

Wiring looks okay (right gpio pins used) But the solder joints on the volume wheel don't look great (look like cold joints). Also double check the pwm0 and pwm1 on the board too.

Also make sure you increase the volume in emulation station to 100% (press start and find audio volume).

And what's up with the headphone jack? Are they wrapped up in tape? That may be causing issues too. Especially since I can't see it.

Hi there rodocop, thanks for the message, I'll double check those solder joints to make sure everything's ok on that side and I'll report back as soon as I've done that.

Master volume is at 100% and there's no headphone jack just yet (wanted to test audio without it first before jumping on that), that thing covering the jack would be a usb all wrapped up in tape, sorry about the confusion :?

Without the headphone socket you cant complete the audio circuit....,

Install/solder the headphone socket to the board....

If the headphone socket isn't connected to the board, your wont hear anything....

Your soldering also needs cleaning up....

And there is a specific support section for this AIO (issues should be posted there).....

Ah yeah. Like veteran said you will need the headphone jack connected for things to work properly.

And it's working!!!
Thanks a lot everyone, now I can finally get some rest, I've spent all day fixing all solder joints and stuff after installing the audio jack :)

Thanks again! :D
