That is probably a good idea. Is your printing issue strictly this filament/ do you have any other rolls that you can test to see if this is an isolated issue. I have not used that filament brand so I do not know what the quality is. In my experience with my maker select which is basically a re-branded WanHao Duplicator, I have not had temperature drops like that on my printer.

I tested with a black pla that I have (same brand and everything) and it worked just fine with all normally settings. Same model and everything.

I went to micro center and got it exchanged (same type different color). Doing another test print now. Not really optimistic about it.

The thing is I got my printer and my 2 pla rolls for christmas. I ran out of one of them on sunday and thus picked up another one just like it (as I thought), and this whole thing got started. If this does not fix it I am going to stop buying the inland pla locally and either switch to abs or buy pla from somewhere else.

Inland is a popular, reputable, quality brand. It's not the filament. Something is wrong with your setup - either mechanically or in your slicer settings.

You need to start troubleshooting from the ground up. Three places I'd start: is your filament feeding correctly (is the spool sticking/catching? blockages in the stepper motor? bowden tubes clean and inserted correctly); is your hotend okay (inspect for damage; do a cold pull on the filament to check the interior); are your slicer settings correct (filament diameter, extrusion multiplier, etc.

Also, you need to adjust your bed height - your nozzle is too far from the bed.

He's tested it with a different roll of the same brand of filament with the same settings and it worked correctly. Guessing it was just a bad batch of filament.

After reading those links provided by icmf, I decided to try a quick experiment. Right now I am doing the duck test with that gray spool with some new experimental profile meant to combat underextrusion. I simply I am running at 220 c, bed 60c, slower speed 30 , and a fillament flow of 110%. So far it looks promising.

Well I tested with a slower speed and filament flow of 150%. We have a complete duck, but there is some cosmetic problems. It looks bad around the nec, but its sturdy.
