Help with my pi zero project!

Post by Deramin » Mon Aug 22, 2016 9:37 am

Hello all! This is my first post and I was just hoping for some tips.

I recently received a 3.5 inch screen from amazon it was the http://sudomod.com/wiki/images/5/50/BW_ ... _board.jpg
BW Version 5 I think as it looks like that as well as it came with the buttons on the side. It could also be version 1 or 3 .

I soldered the screen up to my pi zero just to test it however all I am able to get it a white screen.

This is my first project and I am not overly savvy with proper terminology for things so sorry if i'm slow or ask a lot of dumb questions.

Thanks everyone for your help!
if you need more info let me know.

Hi there,

Make sure it works, before you damage the screen in any way. Maybe it was DOA.

Hey thanks for the reply! Considering your advice I hooked up one of my gearbest 3.5 screens I got for another project and it works first try no messing around, so I believe you were correct about the DOA so thanks for that man!

Upon closer inspection the ribbon cable on the BW screen was super beat up when I first opened it so I should have known.

Thanks for the help man and I am sure you will see me around asking a lot more questions :P
