Modify screen board for 5v
Hi,
I'm new to the electronics wiring and circuitry scene and this forum. So I'm not 100% sure this board even needs a 5v rewiring. If anyone could be of assistance I'd greatly appreciate it. Also if anyone has tips on removing the double sided tape that came in the back of the board.

Re: Modify screen board for 5v
That appears to be what the forum is calling the v7 board. It looks like mine which I just tried last night. Totally worked unmodified, but there was some flickering. Not sure if this is what the jumper wire fixes. I have read people recommending modifying the v7 board but I have not seen an image of it with the jumper wire on here yet.
Re: Modify screen board for 5v
If this one the same I cut out the chip due to flicker then on the back is a 5v pads which I soldered a jumper wire on

Re: Modify screen board for 5v
I received a v7 board as well and did the mod mentioned above. I removed the voltage regulator and put this extra wire - I can't see any difference compared to without modding the voltage...

Re: Modify screen board for 5v
Most people don't have a problem and works with no issues .I wanted my one to run off 5v when I got mine it worked but i had a flicker on the screen and i did what I did works fine with no flickering across the screen and its been in my gbz over a month. These boreds are always different some may look the same as well just depends on where you brought it. Some people solder straight on the leg on the voltage regulator you do what ever is easyist for your self .
