I dont remember who it was who mentioned it in the rearview monitor thread but take a blowdryer on low speed with hot air and put it around the screen for 30 seconds -glue should melt quite a but then lift. And keep repeating the proccess.. Mine just slipped right off after about 2 minutes of this.. This way you wont damage your screen.MacBean wrote:Sorry, I think you misunderstood me.
I have the screen and control board completely removed from the housing.
The control board is stuck to the back of the screen with glue or something.
I was wondering how you separated it.
Does that make more sense?

It was probably me I still have it described in my build log. Perhaps we should have a sticky on how to remove the LCD from the housing?Thatbraziliann wrote:I dont remember who it was who mentioned it in the rearview monitor thread but take a blowdryer on low speed with hot air and put it around the screen for 30 seconds -glue should melt quite a but then lift. Remember to be patient with the hairdryer and not just try to pull it right off: I was trying to remove a laptop screen the other day, accidentally shattered the whole screen! Oh well, the LCD was toast anyway...

05-15-2016 Progress (Battery):
All the items for my connections came from adafruit.com
This is the guide I used: https://learn.adafruit.com/pigrrl-raspb ... er-circuit
I need to cut these down a little because it would not fit in the GBZ when I attach the legacy power switch later. Here it is cut down a bit, I took off about 70%.
We have power!

Re: DirtyBeagles Build/Progress
Hi, can you explain why you use these components.
Why not just the PowerBoost 1000 Charger - Rechargeable 5V Lipo USB Boost, https://www.adafruit.com/products/2465 for example?
Why do you need the Adafruit Mini Lipo w/Mini-B USB Jack ?

No reason, I was just following the adafruit guide. Do you know of a reason why you need to use the 1000 one?davidn wrote:Hi, can you explain why you use these components.

wermy can I use a 500 powerboost instead of a 1000? the 1000 seems to be sold out. Any alternatives?

Popcorn wrote:Apparently the reason the 1000C was chosen over the 500C is because the draw of the RPI0 was about 500ma when powered on, which gave no headroom when in charging mode. So if you were to be running the PI and trying to charge it at the same time, the power to the batteries would be underpowered and could cause problems. So, it was advisable to stay in the safely rated solution of the 1000C. However, IF you never plan on playing while plugged in, and only charging when the unit is off, then the 500C should theoretically work. Let's just hope the battery doesn't blow up , or more realistically, die on you from being undercharged.
Hope that helps.

Thanks, I guess that is my mistake then on the 500 model. I will get one from ebay because they are sold out everywhere else it seems.

Re: DirtyBeagles Build/Progress
I took 3y3c0ugh drawing and added what I did to mine so far. I will add the rest of the components when I see the rest of wermy's videos.
+wermy
I am not able to get the Teensy working or the speaker so do not use this diagram yet. I will update it when I figure out my problem.
