@rodocop I haven't seen that, but I'm hoping these issues will be a thing of the past soon. This script was written by @Popcorn for the PowerBoost. I originally only made a couple of changes to make it work with the BangGood charger, but it's grown arms and legs.

I'll eventually retire the script once I'm sure the new one works fully. That said, I should probably spend a bit of time on it, as I haven't looked at it in a few weeks.

If you're interested, here's the link:
https://github.com/Camble/Safe-Power-Monitor

I can't guarantee it will work right now though.

@correia5022 I'm waiting on delivery of a revised PCB. I expect I'll have a batch available in February.

Camble,

I think I am having a problem. In git-hub the directions are to run the script to make sure everything is working. Nothing happens on the GBZ when the script is run but the power switch will shutdown the system cleanly. In the putty window the command line is stuck at a sleep command that I can Ctrl+Z out of. I was under the impression running the script would put the low battery message on the GBZ to test, correct?

Also the instructions say to...
Once you are satified that the monitor behaves properly, add the monitor to the startup process to complete the installation and then reboot to make it live.

echo "@reboot /usr/bin/nice -n 19 /usr/bin/python ~/GBZ-Power-Monitor_BG/gbz_powe...

I assume that running the line in putty will add the script to the startup process?. The switch works with the power and shutdown but I am unable to test the low battery function.

EDIT: A google search does tell me that is indeed what the echo line does and if its working I must conclude the script took hold on reboot. I should have googled first. How do I test the low battery function without waiting 4 hours for the battery to go dead?

You can connect BCM17 to ground to simulate a low battery. As it stands, the script will only warn you. It won't shut down. People were having issues with it shutting down too soon.
