Fleder wrote:Here is a tutorial on how to make it play a video while loading with RetroPie:Go to the following directory on your SD Card:
/home/pi/RetroPie/splashscreens
Create one Folder for every Video you want to have, you can switch between them later.
If you have 2 Videos (Video1.mp4, Video2.mp4) create those folders:
/home/pi/RetroPie/splashscreens/Video1/
/home/pi/RetroPie/splashscreens/Video2/
And put those Videos in their respective folders (/home/pi/RetroPie/splashscreens/Video1/Video1.mp4 and so on).
Now, in RetroPie, go to "RetroPie" then RetroPie settings, then choose the 3rd Menu Item.
After that, search for the "Choose Retropie Splashscreen" Menu item, or something similar.
Go to "Choose Own Splashscreen" and choose your desired folder which contains the video.
Now go back and restart your Pi to watch it play the video instead of boring text.

@Ganreizu Here you go mate. I included both the mp4 and mp3. The mp3 is timed appropriately for the mp4

Ha. No problem. I did this a couple of weeks ago for the same reason. I'll share with you and whoever needs it the how.Ganreizu wrote:What a god. Thank you sir.
Find your boot screen clip on youtube. I searched "Gameboy DMG bootup video" in google. Watch and make sure that it is what you need.
Use one of any number of youtube video converters for download. I personally use clipconverter.cc (here is the plug of "don't take anything that is copyrighted, pirated, doesn't rightfully belong to you, etc."). Go through the simple directions given there. They have options for a couple of different video formats, as well as a few audio only formats.
Repeat for any other console boot screen your heart desires.

Re: Splashscreen Intro Video
What software did you use to make your video? I have my own idea for a boot up video that I would like to try out. Thanks.Fleder wrote:There is also this one I made:
