Hi, i just got this variant (9)to day, the 5v is soldieried to which pin on the chip, as the pin you used is different from the wiki. Thanks a lot
i'm not sure what pin is in the wiki....

i went with the pin that worked for others, and actually worked for me (the wiki also advises you to remove the chip)

look further down this page... it shows what others have done and have had success with...

great stuff.... the wiki is good as a guide, but always search the forum as theres someone thats bound to have put it into practice and can give feedback if it works or not

shielding the wire for this board is the way to go.... during testing i didnt notice any/much interference, but once it was all sealed in and everything is pushed up against each other you may find the odd fuzzy black screen or interference hear and there....

quick question, do i need to solder both ends of the ground wire (ie pi and vga driver board) when using the shield or would one side do?

both ends will need to be soldered

i would recommend using the yellow wire (AV1) for your screen wire which is next to the ground on the screen board, and the point on the raspberry pi that you solder the yellow or white wire to (tv point) next to it is a ground point which you solder the other end of the shielded wire

any old rca will work (white, red or yellow)
