Unable to connect to wifi

Post by Harvmck » Mon Jul 24, 2017 7:28 am

Hey, I have soldered the raspberry pi to helders Custom board and set up the screen. I have put the image onto the sd card. However I cannot get the wifi to work. Whenever I try to connect it comes up saying "unable to connect to network" I have tried on several different hubs and hotspots and it still wont work. I have managed to get games onto it through a USB stick but it would be nice to get the wifi working. Any suggestions or advice would be much appreciated. Thankyou!😊

Weird, it works for me. I'll give it a whirl from a Windows machine and see if I get the same behavior (maybe a permissions issue or something) - that's the only difference I can think that might cause that.

It had deleted the file itself but left a corrupt shortcut to it. Odd! Haven't imaged wnother yet to see if it was a random one off.

What kind of encryption settings is your wifi using?
WPA/WPA personal. I have also found out that I can't update or download any new or existing emulators. Not sure if this ties in with the wifi issue?

If you're note online i wouldn't expect you to be able to? Or do you mean via USB otg?

Remove the SD card and check status of your .conf file if possible?

As per the guide it's in the 'boot' folder on the root. Look for the wpa_supplicant.conf file and edit it with a text editor to add SSID and password. Then reboot and test WiFi. Should auto connect.

I did that before I put it in my raspberry Pi and it did not work. I have since then tried 3 more times neither of them worked
