Re: Veteran's 2nd GBZ (HDMI Screen + Stereo Sound) (WIP)
slight update....
screen modified to fit into case....
usb socket, switch and gpio connectors removed.... and shaved a little of the edge of the board....
also test fitted it with the 3d printed holder....
also got the rear buttons sorted....
there is also another issue that i'm trying to resolve.... and i think its the reason that we arent seeing people use this screen in there builds..
i'm working on a solution....

Re: Veteran's 2nd GBZ (HDMI Screen + Stereo Sound) (WIP)
I just got my KeDei screen, same as yours, the other day. Some issues:
- screen a little too dark. How's yours?
- no brightness control
- need to set overscan to center the display
Is there a way to programmatically adjust the brightness?

The screen may come across a little dark, because you might have the touch screen layer still attached... If you remove it, the screen looks great...
I've got some overscan settings others have used, but I haven't got to that point yet... But I don't see it as an issue...

I have already taken the touch panel off. My other composite screens are noticeably brighter. It looks great still though.
Tested a GBA game Pokemon Ruby, it's super sharp and clear like it was designed for this game. Bilinear was set ON. You've got to try it!

Re: Veteran's 2nd GBZ (HDMI Screen + Stereo Sound) (WIP)
just thought id see how the screen would look in the case...
some overscan settings have been changed (only left and right)... but this isnt the final setup (that will be done once the screen is fixed in)
tronkyfran
GBZ theme
with screen surround
not bad for a test fit....
the beauty about this screen is that your not limited to the themes you could use.... everything (within reason) looks good

I really like how clean your builds are (+1 for no glue!).
Also the limited parts list here is a big plus.
Keeping an eye on this build.

The theme is downloadable from Es themes in the retropie options menu...
With this screen you can try them all and see which one you like...
The updated GBZ theme is now also available via there
