Holy cow. Completely off-topic. While searching ebay for GB Pocket's to purchase, I did a search for the Gameboy Micro to see if I could scoop one of those up cheap too, just to have in my collection. Nope. And I'm kicking myself in the pants.

Back in like 2008 or sometime after the life of the micro was already completely dead, I came across a bunch of them at Walmart marked as clearance for $25. Stupid me sat there looking at maybe 10 of them contemplating on buying a couple. Walmart had obviously found a box of them in the back that were never sold, and since they were discontinued, had to unload them. I didn't even buy one, because I didn't have any more games for it and moved on to the PSP and PS3. Now I wished I would have bought them all.

Aso for screen size for the Pocket, does the main GBZ screen fit? But being that it's a pocket, would be cool to build a version where the screen is the same size as original.

I'm currently working on a GameBoy Pocket. I would love one. Even just a common ground board would be nice
Pocket/color is going to be my next PCB...
If I do a run would you be interested in one then?

That's really unlucky! If China made the case only for the GBMicro I would 100% make a build with that! Without that it is going to be VERY expensive..

For the Pocket I have found a screen that basically fits the original perfectly. It is ever so slightly wider though (4:3 rather than 1:1 ratio) but I'm trying to work out an easy way to get a screen border for it.. but we'll see..
Do you have any links for this screen you have found please?? :)

Not sure it would be of much use as it is a DPI LCD (the connector has over 50 pins) so unless you're making a PCB for it you won't be able to use it ;)
Ok, I will wait for your next project to use it then!! ;)

I might try out one of the PCB fabs I've been yammering on about recently with them then. they are open sourced in 32Teeth's github...
If you just want bare boards we can just split the cost
(if you want them populated though.... ;) )

They work out to $10 a pop on Osh park but I think we can get that down to 2-3 or less from the right fab
