Micro Lipo
Micro Lipo
Hey I'm just wondering if it's possible to use the micro lipo charger without cutting off the jack I'm an amateur at soldering and don't know anyone who could do it for me

Re: Micro Lipo
It won't close. There's quite a bit of soldering required to be successful with this project. This gives you a good reason to practice soldering!

Re: Micro Lipo
It's mainly plastic. I snip bits at a time then once all plastic is gone the pins can be snipped or carefully moved back and forth and will come off. That said, still a fair bit of soldering in other areas needed.

Re: Micro Lipo
I'm mostly concerned about soldering the battery wires to the board I'm sure I'll be able to do everything else I just don't want the thing to blow up in my face lol

Re: Micro Lipo
Ahh with you.
Well it's not going to 'blow up' but just be careful not to apply heat for too long to the battery wires.
How I do it:
1) Tin the pins / pads on the lipo charger
2) Tin the two battery wires. I tin the iron leaving a bit on the tip then dab on each wire (ideally held firm by a third hand etc) with the iron and a bit of additonal solder. Once wire is coasted you're good
3) Using tweezers, place the tinned battery wires over the appropriate pin on the lipo. As both are tinned a dab of your iron should quickly melt them together.
Job done
