Re: Veteran's 2nd GBZ (HDMI Screen + Stereo Sound) (WIP)
i agree, its not that difficult to relocate the buttons....
but how many times are you gonna use them...
in my first build, i had the adjustment buttons accessible
but havent really used them....
there nice to have, but if you wanna pay extra (this screen cost more than the kedei screen) go for it....

Although I'm having massive issues buying from aliexpress. My bank blocked the transaction and I got a notification for suspicious fraudulent activity.. They did this because it was an out of US purchase. I called and had them unblock it, but then aliexpress thinks I'm doing fraudulent activity and is requesting identity verification. They want me to submit pictures of my ID, Debit Card, and Bank statement showing the failed transaction...
On top of that, I'm trying to get parts to build my daughter a game boy for her birthday and I'm on a time crunch. china goes on a national holiday on October 1 and will not ship anything for 7 days. I've been trying to solve all this before the first and it's not looking good...
Also, I was wondering, I noticed there is a female connector for the HDMI FPV cable. Do you think it's possible to get some sort of FPV cable splitter hub to have way to also plug the GB into the tv via HDMI?

Re: Veteran's 2nd GBZ (HDMI Screen + Stereo Sound) (WIP)
The Good, the Bad and the Ugly.......
the good news the adapter works, and sits perfectly in the gameboy case (The Good).....
the plan is to have the Pi Zero positions so you can access the SD card, as the HDMI port is being used there is no option for HDMI out (not that i'm aware off)
this is where things went a bit down hill.... the aim for my builds is always to make them look clean (and as factory as posible)...
the cable i was intending to use seem like a good cable to use (and still might be)
but it need alot of the plastic around it to be removed, i thought i had removed as much as i needed.....
but it still wouldnt allow the Pi Zero to be positioned where i wanted it (it would have been fine, if i moved/positioned the Pi Zero somewhere else )
so in the process of trying to remove the extra plastic so the cable would be even more slim line, i ended up butchering the cable (The Bad)
and believe me those two plastic piece are glue/moulded/reinforced to the cable...
i've ordered a few more cables, but now its that waiting game (aliexpress)
I've wasted too much time on this build, and because i bought so many different cables, i gone to plan b (The Ugly)
i still had the flat FPV cable... and instead of waiting posibly another month or more for the replacement cables im using the FPV (just get this build done)
i tried to butcher the case as little as posible....
it fits perfectly (and i'm commited with this now)
and once the cartridge is over it, no one will know.....
i'll have the build finished by the end of the week (hopefully, but minus a safe shutdown)

I know you're a perfectionist, (like me!) But that really is still a neat solution. The fact it still looks stock with the cartridge in, really is quite an achievement!
