Fraggle's second GBZ (Helder AIO 2.2 + Camble's Safe Shutdown)

Post by fraggle » Fri Nov 03, 2017 12:18 pm

Just thought I'd post a few snaps of my second build - actually finished it a while ago now but have been super busy with work :(
Massive shout out to Helder and Camble who's boards made making this a dream in comparison to the DMG build I did first.

Not much else to say, there is nothing out of the ordinary - except perhaps the multi-function side tactile button that lets me quit out of any emulator, toggle bluetooth, etc. I put this where people have put the micro usb - so I made I new hole for that under the HDMI port.

I also spent quite a lot of time making a custom emulation station theme so I will post some shots of that too - more happy with that than anything else.

Anyhow - without more blather my second, all aftermarket, build.

Looks awesome. Can't wait to see more about the theme.

Thanks :) Still actually tweaking the theme after I added a bunch of new systems, plus a system wrapper for omxplayer...However the splash screen is done I think

I see you notched the corner out of your battery compartment. Was that so it could close without the pi hitting there? I just essentially did a complete rebuild of mine with @Dextech battery that fills the whole battery compartment but the pi hits the compartment and It looks like if I trim there still won't be enough room because of the size of the battery :/

Exactly that - there isn't space for the pi on top of the AIO without this notch - but one can simply line the bottom of the compartment again with some foam or something. The pi doesn't intrude into the compartment at all in my build - I have actually adapted this build quite a bit since I posted - will update will some more pics...I am using the S2 Extended battery that also pretty much fills the entire compartment.
