Oh Just found that thread.
Hi Community :D
My name is Tim I´m 38 and I´m from Germany. I once learned radio and television technology an made my journeyman's certificate in that.
(Needed to google that, I hope that´s the right description for it).

But I never really seriously worked in that bussiness because it was always poorly paid, so I moved on.

Means there is electronical knowledge and soldering experience but it was long time ago... But I still have all my equipment that was used sometimes during the years.
I´ve messed already a lot with Rasperry Pis, but in the retro gaming section mostly with recalbox instead of retropie. Always liked it more and with some teaks it fitted all my needs.
I found this community through different channels after seeing a GBZ somewhere in the internet and going crazy about it.

If have allmost all needed parts to start my own build, but all the time find something I like more what leads to a new order with new waiting times... Ok to be honest I have all but I found some better parts again...
I almost have parts for two builds :)

The planed one is for me and should be as perfect as possible for my needs.

I already posted here and there, but as soon as my actual other projects are finished and I finaly decieded what parts to use, I´ll start my build and probably flood you all with questions :)

Hi everybody!

My names Mast. I saw the Minty pi last year on YouTube somewhere and thought it was really awesome.
The Minty pi along with a coworker reintroduce me to retro gaming. I got super excited and dug out the n64 and tried to order one of the new nes reboot system. Got shafted on the nes system and a/v cables don't carry a good picture on new smart tvs.
Fast foward to this year where I have a new job with a lot more time and a little extra pocket money. Well what can you do to ensure you get the gaming experience you want? Build it. :D
Playing around trying to figure out how to make a Mintypi I stumbled upon the forum. I am really excited as I see that this is a most fortuitous time to be here.

Edit: Hopefully I can get one of helders boards

I didn’t see this before I made my first post, whoops!

My name is Chaz. I am a nerd. Haha!

I am a Paramedic working in wildland fire and disasters, and Volunteer LEO. I have a few interesting hobbies, including this one now. I have spent the last several years of my free time building high tech custom Lightsabers, and am a moderator on one of the big saber forums, Therebelarmory.com. Safe to say that I am a Star Wars NUT.

I greatly enjoy soldering and building electronic devices, and am a huge retro game fan. I am so glad that I found this site! I look forward to sharing some of my creations in the future (working on a full blown custom Kite CS build right now!). I stumbled across this forum while looking for vintage replacement parts for an original DMG I am restoring.

If you want to check out a couple of the sabers I have made, here’s a link to my YouTube!

I'm Boti, ui designer from Austria and I learned about this board during my research about GBZ.

Now I planning to build my first GBZ and i'm excited about it.
Sadly i learned too late about some cool pcbs or stickers here, but I probably will do more than one GBZ. :)

I love retro but also modern technology so this is a perfect mix of both for me.
I'm more than a software than a hardware guy so this will be a challenging project for me.
Luckily this is not my first pi project. I've already built a retropi arcade machine with a friend from an old refurbed arcade box with new internals.
Anyway this will b a far more sophisticated built than the arcade. 😃

In my spare time I'm coding for arduboy and playing with pokitto.

yours,
b

I'm Kichi!
I've actually been lurking a very long time. I made a few short posts a long time ago on an account I lost about documenting my progress from knowing nothing about soldering, circuitry, etc. My long term goal was to get proficient enough to build a portable handheld chargeable retropie machine. I immediately stopped wanting to document my progress and quit posting entirely. (haha I suck.) Since then, I've seen a myriad of projects come to fruition including a very simple pi 3 retropie machine, multiple fightsticks from scratch, fixing tons of tiny dumb things like off brand controllers and the like, and I am so ready for that long term goal. I preordered helders minty pi parts, started the print of the outsides and have a list of parts I need to save money for. I am so excited and I wanted to thankyou all for allowing me to creepily watch you all talk about this stuff. Thanks much.

Hi. My name’s Kade (hence the name), and I discovered wermy’s YouTube channel while I was browsing. A few months later, I remembered it and searched up the MintyPi. I eventually found my way here, but have just been reading the posts and not writing any. I just made an account after several frustrations with the MintyPi, and now here I am. I live in California, and am just about the start High School. Like a bunch of the people on here, this isn’t my first post (oops). Thanks for being here, and keep being awesome!.

Ellohay! Iay onlyay eakspay igpay atinlay. Just Kidding. Hey, I'm Derpatello, but you can just call me Derp. I'm getting into circuitry, and making these amazing electronics. I'm about to start my mintyPi project and I'll keep you guys posted on that on a post soon. I'm slowly progressing into circuits, so if I seem bad at it I am. I'm glad I could introduce myself to everyone!

Hey everyone, just thought I'd drop a post in here to introduce myself. I'm a long time lurker but only recently registered.
I'm formerly a motor technician that specialised in auto electronics and diagnostics. I moved on to a degree in software and IoT and have built lots of weird projects involving the Raspberry Pi over the years, typically around automation or control over the web etc. I spend most of my time writing in python, kotlin and Java (Android) these days, among a few others. I'm a lifelong gamer and veteran of the SNES and MegaDrive, so I was hooked when I came across Wermy's original video on YouTube. I've built a few retro game consoles but I'm about to take on my first GameBoy build in the next week or so and I hope to have a few neat little touches that you guys might like, if I don't make a total arse of them. :D
