Managed to get the speaker back in!
Its still loud enough even. Took me 30minutes to solder those stupid 0.1mm magnet wires :)

EDIT:
Found the battery monitor guide by Robbi_Blechdose and ordered a few Attiny85's and a programmer, should easily fit in the empty space at the bottom :)

EDIT2:
I played around with the retroarch config and found a few useful tweeks:
Changing hotkeys for save/load state to "up" and "down" so you can actually save states without the L/R buttons
Changing aspect ratio to 1.25 and stretch to true so that gbc for example at least gets the full resolution in width, the bit of stretching doesn't really bother.
Also the gui resolution to 160x128 so you can actually read the osd text.
Adding smoothing to make text muuuch more readable!

And a little bit more:
I added 2 magnets so that the lid stays closed as well as a connector on the outside to charge the battery.
I have issues charging through the board, it has to stay on to charge and even after leaving it on for the night the 400mah gave me just 20 minutes and the 800mah 15 minutes. So now I can charge it while it is off using a powerboost.

Amazing work, thank you so much for the PCB files too!

However, I tried uploading the key only board to OSH Park and I received an error stating there is no top copper layer. Am I doing something wrong? I'm a little new to ordering custom boards....

This is awesome! When should we expect the v2 boards to be in stock? Count me in!

Very cool. Will you still be making V2 PCBs? Would love to get one.

Quick updates on V2 PCB

I've received V1.5 prototype a month ago and verified most of the functions. I am making some changes to the prototype V2 in order to make the wiring easier. I still need a few more days to panelize the board hoping to reduce the manufacturing cost.

You can check the working designs in the GitHub as usual.
