ip address wont show

So i ordered a new mintypi and updated it to the latest system yadda-yadda-yadda and when I try to transfer my roms via media fox I click to show my IP address, it just says "Your IP address is: " and then continues with other stuff. Please help!!!!

It's not connected to a network then. Do you have a bluetooth keyboard to use to enter your wifi details? I think the only other option would be to open it up to access the memory card and add a new WPA supplicant file. Maybe after the update it forgot your wifi details.

Did you have wifi working before the update?

Very likely the WIFI is turned off, go to the RetroPi settings and choose Enable BT/Wifi.

thanks guys! turns out my wpa file had a quotation mark missing xD!
