Does Size of Wire Matter?

I am planning on making a Mintypi, and am currently buying my materials. The wiki says that I need both 30AWG wire and 26AWG wire for the build. I was wondering if I really needed to both of these sets of wire. I mean, we all know that size doesn’t matter but can I get some advice?

i just use 28 awg for everything in the minty pi. If you want you can use the 26 awg for power, and 28/30 for everything else. Up to you, it likely won't make much difference.
