GB Null Kit
Re: Game Boy Null Kit
Update: I'm putting together 20 kits and a build guide, I'll have a Tindie link available soon.

Re: Game Boy Null Kit
I see that they made Clear and Clear Matte. You used just straight up clear right. Here is a pic of the settings. Does that seem correct?

Re: Game Boy Null Kit
No! You've got the thicknesses backwards.
3mm = 0.118
5mm = 0.220
Yes it's normal clear acrylic, not clear matte

Re: Game Boy Null Kit
Holy cow! I knew that correct thickness. I can’t believe I swapped it. Thanks for catching that.
I loaded one file at a time at first from the site and had the size correct but it would not add both to the cart. The only way to add both to the cart was to download them first then upload them to get them into one project.
I subconsciously went smallest to largest and didn’t double check the file names. I’m usually more thourough than that.

Re: Game Boy Null Kit
How about we don't introduce more "Standard" conversions to a metric build. I would prefer if we stuck with metric all around; the only reason we are even having this discussion is we were trying to find the Ponoko equivalently sized acrylic sheets.ThompsonTinkers wrote: ↑Tue May 08, 2018 6:23 pmLooks like the screw holes are sized for M2.5 screws. Those should be readily available through McMaster-Carr (for Americans) or Amazon small parts.
That said, they should also accommodate a #4-40 SAE machine screw if you are stuck on that sort of thing.
If you are comfortable drilling, you can use the original hole as a pilot and widen it for #6-32. Use a sharp bit, support the work, and use light pressure and it will be fine. You’ll have to do the same to the PCB, but I don’t think you’d hit anything important.

I'm about to share a link to the build guide, you'll be pleased to see it primarily uses metric and only includes the imperial measurements for the acrylic sheet thicknesses

Re: Game Boy Null Kit
There are three plates in the build guide above, but only two files on Ponoko.
Re: Game Boy Null Kit
Do you mean the black plate in the middle? That's the PCB, not a piece of acrylic, it's labelled...
On the first page, all the green parts are cut from the same 3mm acrylic sheet, and all the orange parts are cut from the same 5mm sheet.
Do you have any software you can use to open up the design files and look at them?

Re: Game Boy Null Kit
I was referring to the one outer and 2 inner plates. I’m guessing one of the two files has two plates. I just can’t open them
