Dreamcast joystick programming on my Circuit Sword

Post by smoothoperator » Wed Aug 15, 2018 4:50 am

I have been trying to get Dreamcast working on my circuit sword build. The problem I am having is that when programming the controls in Retropie setup, my joystick won't register anything. This is for both the "joystick" and "d-pad2" entries. All of the other buttons register fine. Has anyone had any success with this? Can anyone help? The joystick works just fine for N64 games. Thanks.

Is that similar to mapping the buttons in retropie? I didn't know I could map buttons in retroarch.

Remapped in retroarch and although the joystick registered, when I started reicast, it still doesn't work. I might just give up on this emulator. :(

Kite, any ideas if this is a Dreamcast (reicast) issue or a circuit sword issue?

Have same issue. In my build I'm using one real joystick as right joystick, and dpad (with mode button combo) as left joystick. Yes, for reicast both of them do nothing. But when I remapped them in another way (real joystick to be a left one and d-pad as right), I could at least go through start screen with clock :) I suppose, it really depends on the config - there are some examples for ps/xbox joysticks on retropie-reicast wiki page.
