Yeah, I went through the gamepad detection routine and it recognized everything except L1 and R1.
Ok, I would suggest to test continuity on the buttons with a MM. You can also try changing the two connections on Kite's daughterboard to verify a button issue.

So I checked all my solder connections and checked the switches with a multimeter. It seems like the board isn't accepting input on both yellow wires. I even tried shorting L1 to ground on the board with the buttons.

So if you tried shorting the yellow wires (L1, R1) to ground bypassing the buttons, then there must be an issue with the connectors leading to the daughter board. Make sure the pins weren’t bent and are making the connection. Did you try swapping the connectors?

How do you swap connectors? One is three pin and one is six.

Oh yes sorry about that. That won’t work then. Basically as you said you need to short the ground and the button pin wires. If it’s not working then the connector on the daughterboard is not making good connection.

I just got mine in the mail today and installed it right away! It was super easy and fits great. I've never tried any other back buttons so I don't have anything to compare to, but these ones are amazing. The soft buttons are SO MUCH nicer then the standard tact buttons. I Printed the HoolyHoo screen bracket and when I saw this forsale, I thought it would be a great way to say a little thanks.

Great work! super stoked on my build!

Does anyone sell the on/off, USB board and fan mount like in the picture without buying kites board?
