DieselDummy's CSO build - #2 "The SudoNod"

Post by DieselDummy » Tue Oct 30, 2018 7:21 pm

I've had this finished for a few months now and haven't had time to post it. It's the second Circuit Sword I've built and I'd like to call it the "sudoNod". It's more of a tip of the hat to some of the key players here on sudomod. Thank you all for your contributions.

Hi,

Do you have an STL file for the headphone socket surround you have used on your build? Makes it look very neat!

Cheers,

Nurgle

I do. I'd be glad to share it too. Only thing is it's not a print and install kinda thing. I'm using a 0.4mm nozzle and it looked ugly when printing to the size needed for the headphone jack. So what I did was print with a smaller diameter then drilled it out as needed. I will upload as many different file types as i can when i get home (hopefully it will be useful as far as modifications go)

Ok, here are the files for the collar on the headphone jack.
The STL file was printed at 0.15 resolution. The hole must be drilled out to size i order to fit over the headphone jack. I've also included a step file if anyone would rather print it with a larger hole or perhaps try to print with a smaller nozzle. Hope this helps. I will also post it on the sudomod thingiverse page.

Nice, how did you connect the fan with the solder points? What type of Connector is this?

It's a simple JST connector, commonly used on the batteries. It may look a little different because I installed some heat shrink tubing on one side to provide some strain relief on the very thin fan wires.

No power tools needed. The cover was a simple modification using a file. The right size file in the right spot and the cover fits perfectly. I haven't had one fall out either.
