Painted Custom clear Gameboy Pocket shells
Painted Custom clear Gameboy Pocket shells
Like the topic says, I'm looking for someone to help me out and make me custom clear Gameboy Pocket shells- looking for something like the extreme green Gameboy Pocket shell and a clear red shell too. I want to try my hand at some Gaboze Pocaio builds and would love to have these shells. If anyone knows of where or who can make me them, please point me to them and help me out.
Re: Painted Custom clear Gameboy Pocket shells
Do you guys know what kind of paint or crystal clear coat is used to paint over plastic? It´s soo cool the look of the shells but I would like to try myself one or two DIY style.
Re: Painted Custom clear Gameboy Pocket shells
Yes. Try duplicolor adhesion promoter and then a good two part clear would be ideal (automotive clear coat). Regular spray paint clear will work but it won't get very hard. Then wet sand/compound(buff)/polish
Dupli-Color CP199 Clear Adhesion Promoter Primer - 11 oz. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0007UAXJQ/re ... eCbVDJPM7H
If you must use spray cans instead of an actual paint gun I recommend something like this
Spraymax 3680061 2K Clear https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0043B7UQY/re ... eCb7K27YXB
I've heard of using a clear binder/intercoat between them as well though I bet you could avoid that if you aren't adding graphics. End result of painting a clear case is incredible

Re: Painted Custom clear Gameboy Pocket shells
I almost forgot about this thread lol. Anyway I went with the clear light blue shell and managed to nab a broken red gbp that I'll use because having someone do 2 customs shells for me- having him add graphics with his uv printer.
