in the search for a USB hub

So I decided to disassemble my only GBZ project I did when this site was first started .

I pained me to take it apart but I wanted to streamline it a bit and make it work smoother and better. Sooo... I'm looking for a USB hub alternative because that's the PCB that ate up most of the space. I considered using the sweex usb hub but I can't seem to find any in Slovenia and the shipping would cost like twice as much as the hub itself. So that's kind of redundant to me .

I know for a fact it's not to big inside (I've used it in some other projects) but the question is... Will it work with a Pi Zero? Has anyone else used this hub before and how did it fare?

the alternative that you've linked is only a two port hub (third port only for power/charging)


two hubs that are easily available...
and which i've used without issues on several builds are....

Awesome. I ordered the two two port one and am hoping for the best. Any advice on how to wire it? Just solder it to the test pads and it's good to go or is there more to it?

nothing more is required....
just connect them up accordingly
(5V, D-, D+, GND)

FYI -- I haven't used this before, but it looks super interesting (there is also a two port version available): 4-port NanoHub

That’s a great little hub....
It’s been mentioned on the forum before...

But the cost is just too much compared to the others...

Yeah...
It looks nice (it’s been designed well)
But your rarely gonna use four USB devices in these builds...
And you can get alternatives for a fraction of the price...

But it’s a good hub
(Just a bit overkill and over priced for these builds)

Hello, @VeteranGamer I need help, I bougth the two ports splitter you told:

But when I plug it to my raspberry pi zero w doesn't recognize my generic snes pad plugged in any of two ports (with raspberry pi 3b+ this pad works ok).

Neither my 8Gb pendrive nor my wireless keyboard are recognized.

What could I check? Maybe the splitter is broken?

hi, my wiring is correct. I don't know why but it doesn't work. If I solder a simple USB connector I can plug a snes usb controller and works well, but if I do that soldering the hub wires does not detect anything.
