Brightness/contrast adjust on a gearbest 3.5 inch lcd?

Post by kalamangus » Mon May 13, 2019 12:16 pm

I bought the gearbest 3.5 inch screen.
Modified it to work off of 5v.
But im having problems with the brightness and also with contrast the brightness is very low and the lines are not very good. It's as if little pixels are sparkling.

Any ideas how to change the brightness and contrast or fix this issue entirely?
(Power supply can power enough amps for the raspberry pi zero and the screen)

I did test it before with 12v and 5v but no difference.

have you tested the LCD backlight booster circuit for putting out 22-24v?
If your LCD backlight is getting full power, then you could try the brightness guide I have here on the website and on my youtube. but you'd have to be pretty adept at soldering and careful not to burn through the ribbon connector.
