Bittboy into gameboy color.

Post by Metalhead » Tue Aug 13, 2019 4:58 am

Hi this is my first post.

I'm in the process of trying to wire a bittboy into a gameboy color housing.

I prefer the os to the raspberry pi due to the load time being quicker and the battery life being reasonable.

So far I have successfully wired up a gameboy pi pcb. See image

It looks like I'm going to have to remove alot of plastic from the back section in order to fit the original board inside unfortunately im not skilled enough at soldering to trim the board.

Hi, remove both audio jack`s on Bittboy and cut the battery slot out of gb backshell. Simply use a plier to remove Headphone jack ;)
Why not use a ori. DMG shell? More space and easy to fit all in.

I have moved forward with this from these images I cut out a slot in the battery holder to slide the board all the way down.

I have also soldered and tested the shoulder and reset buttons.

Things still to be done..

Improve screen clearance in housing.

Add extenders to the card slot and micro usb slot.

Move headphone Jack's

Move power button to correct position.

Atempt to fix parts to housing.

Thanks to everyone who's been following me and offering advice

Why you thinking on a bigger sceen??? At first bring Mainboard to house. Bittboy screen is perfekt size for GB. For a bigger screen you need very, very god ideas. Coding is essential, screen driver etc. A bigger screen also need more space.
This is utopianism.

Edit:
Ah, now understand what you mean. Use a protection foil for lcd screen an modify, screen glass. Take a look at upper link! To fit Mainboard in cut the part off in red:
