Hello, I'm thinking about buying this kit, and I have a few questions.

I'm thinking of making a wooden case for it, will it work? Also, is there going to be a new version of this kit? like upgrades
(headphone jack, new USB C, etc)
I am working on a new version. But it will not appear before the fall.

Ok, thanks, I'm just wondering if I should wait for the new one or buy one now. What kind of things do you think you will improve/add?

Both versions will be on sale. Circuitry will remain the same but everything else will be different. Both versions will be interesting to build.

Leaving feedback here,

I've had some of the best support here I've ever had, I had some issues with the build (My fault most likely) and the seller resolved everything! I'd deal with him again in a heart beat!

I'd reccomend smoothing the back edges of the console, they do dig into your hands after a few hours of gaming

When soldering I messed up the mini USB port. the copper has lifted from the PBC and when I put it on the on position the blue light just blinks and nothing else. I have very basic skills in soldering. The copper has lifted off the PBC in one other place too.

I don’t know how to help you. I can send a new one the PCB. Do not heat the soldering iron above 350С.

You still have the 4 mounting points for the socket so you can still get the socket attached to the board. You've lifted the traces but it looks like there are only 2 of the 5 pins needed. If you follow those traces, they might end at something you can solder to, so you can run wires from the legs of the socket directly to where they need to go. If you can't connect wires directly to their destination, you can scrape off some of the soldermask and solder to the existing traces along that bottom edge.

I never knew that I shouldn't have the temperature above 350, I guess its common sense, but I was using like 480. if I do need a PBC I'm not sure how I will get the raspberry pie out too
