[FOR SALE][Worldwide] 3D-Printed GB Button Wells
Hey guys,
I had several people ask for this, so here you go! These help hold your buttons in place, prevent them from rotating, and limit how far they can protrude (so they match how far the A/B buttons can stick out). They are about as close as you can get to an exact match to the A/B button wells. Just position them and put a couple tiny dabs of hot glue on either side to hold it in place, and that's it!
These are made for the GB and NES buttons, although the NES rubber mats are a little finicky with them I've found (if you get a GB A/B button rubber pad then the NES buttons work great!). They *should* work with official SNES buttons as well, provided that you shave off the extra peg on them.
I print them separate from each other so it will work with anyone's button placement (since these holes are hand-drilled and there will be some variation between builds). Depending on where your screen is placed you *may* have to shave off a bit from the top of the one for the X button to make it fit (or move your screen up just a bit). They are printed in a polycarbonate composite material from Push Plastic that is very strong (it's what I used for the screw brackets), on a Lulzbot Mini. I'm selling them 4 at a time since they are tiny, so you'll have a couple extra in case you manage to break one or something.
$5 shipped within the US ($4 + $1 shipping)
$6 shipped internationally ($4 + $2 shipping)
As with the screw bracket: for anyone who wants to print their own, or for folks who know someone with a 3D printer, here is the STL file:
Download
Edit: Turns out it's not very much more to ship an envelope overseas, so I added an option for international sudomodders.

Re: [FOR SALE][US] 3D-Printed GB Button Wells
This helps so much. Making hand made button wells was such a task. It took me so much fine tuning so that the buttons didn't get caught on specific plastic bits, that they protruded at just the right height, etc. Thank you!

I love to do a lot of the fabrication / custom parts myself, but this was the absolute worst part in the entire pi zero build. PM inbound.

Wermy, do you design these from scratch or do you somehow "scan" the design of an existing controller?

Re: [FOR SALE][US] 3D-Printed GB Button Wells
Thanks again Wermy!!
I have put in an order for some for the UK, I had started on drawing the buttons, but with little knowledge of 3d drawing programs I got a bit stuck.
My design was a bit different:
I started drawing a vector image from my button template, I had used kitsch-bent and helders design for the button pcb, then I tried sketchup and found it wasn't so easy to draw something.
