Yea I'm not sure what buttons the UI will accept as inputs so I can't comment on that. If the controller us working then the usb hub should be working but the pi is picky with the hubs it uses and unfortunately compatibility with certain devices isn't great especially if it's in USB 2.0 mode but then again in USB1.1 something don't work great either. It's best to use the Pi Zero W because of it's built in wifi because this hub chip has some compatibility issues.

Before you ask why did I use this chip, it was during the early days where people were more worried about usb keyboards and not wifi.

I am using a pi zero w so I should be good there. Does some one have a good image of a usb port wired up so I can confirm I am wiring this correctly? google images has produced less than stellar results.

It's easy just hook a female usb socket like in the pictures and line them up like the 2nd and 3rd picture. That is the proper pinout then just solder wires to the AIO and socket and mount wherever you want.

Does the Zero with WLAN work with the 4.2 image? I heard that it is not running very well.

it works perfectly....

the 4.2 update also included pi zero w support, it was previous versions that had issues

Alright I opened th case back up. I do have the usb port wired up correctly and the data lines are twisted. I have this port wired up to hub 1. Would there be any advantage to trying this on 2 or 3?

Does the arduino chip go through the usb hub? I just want to confirm that the hub is working.

Is it typical for only the Dpad to work when I am not in the UI? If I try to mess with any of the retropie configs I cannot commit any changes because only the dpad works.
I have found a solution to this problem. Will be included with the battery monitoring hex and scripts I'm working on for Helder's board. Also more responsive. :D

Do you have an ETA? this has me at a standstill with this build. I have tried 4 different keyboards now. I just don't have access to the models listed in the first post.

Hopefully by this weekend. You will need a USPasp programmer to flash the hex which is the easiest way.

Alright I have one on order but it probably will not be here for a month. Are you reprogramming the board as a keyboard?
