GBA Speaker / Potentiometer / Headphone Jack Wiring?

Post by Racerboy » Wed Jul 20, 2016 5:56 pm

I've been staring at this for ages and can't seem to get the audio wiring straight in my head.

Here's some pictures of the setup...

I just want to know where to solder the amplifier's +/- output to on the potentiometer, then which pins on the potentiometer go to the headphone jack, and then from the headphone jack to the speaker.

This is the only semi-relevant picture I was able to find on the internet that has the GBA headphone jack, but I'm still confused:

Can anyone help me figure this out?

Thanks!

Hi there,

try Method B.

Also take a look at this to get a better understanding of the Headphone Jack:

Thank you! I'll try that as soon as my amp comes in. The whole switching action of the jack makes sense to me, I just have no idea which pins are which on this specific GBA jack. And I'm assuming the audio potentiometer is pretty standard and follows this image (thumbwheel up) http://i.imgur.com/iSC7HVE.png

If I didn't take out all of the SMDs on my GBA board, I probably would have had an easier time tracing it! I just wanted to remove all of that stuff so they didn't affect anything.
