Thanks for the reply, but I bought the one without the hub.

Now, after working with it a little bit, I have another question: Do I provide power through the vcc and gnd under "ISP"?

Also, unrelated to this board, I don't seem to be able to get the GPIO pins to output sound. Can someone maybe put a modified and confirmed working config.txt file on pastebin or something?
I'm not exactly sure what the one without the usb hub looks like, but I'm assuming you still need to connect those to the pi USB because the Atmega chip will still need the USB port.

As for the GPIO pins, wermy's is correct, I've used it myself. So your wiring may be the problem. There's various diagrams on the forum that shows it. Make sure the confit.txt is exactly as wermy has it, or it won't work.

On a side note, is anyone having shoddy success with their cartridge reader? Not sure if it's my wiring, or what.... But sometimes it doesn't boot and gives error, sometimes it freezes, and sometimes it works fine. Also varying success depending on what SD card I use.

Anyway, on my next GBZ I decided to forgo the reader and leave the SD card in the pi. I'm attaching an second external USB port to the case so I can use a keyboard and USB Internet, or one of those really small SD card USB adapters with another SD card I can use to populate my roms. I really can't imagine anyone not wanting a USB hub?

The board you got has a Mini USB connector for convenience and it also has the solder spots for those who don't plan or want to use the connector and want to wire it in. So those 4 solder holes on the right are connected to the USB connector, don't mess with anything on the ISP header location as that is for programming the chip with an ISP programmer. If you mess with that and the chip ceases to work I'm not responsible for fixing or replacing it.

As it is the board is simply plug and play, wire up the connections or use USB Connector and wire up the PWM points to the GPIO Pins and optionally wire the Volume wheel (if not then connect Pot1 to Pot3 and Pot2 to Pot4). Finally connect the output to a speaker and headphone socket.

Helder, I'm looking forward to these being in stock again, question, would it be possible to have two analog sticks with this setup?

There can be if I add it in a future board but now it's getting ridiculous in terms of ideas to add to it. From what I gather PSX and N64 emulation is hit and miss with more misses than anything with the Pi Zero so what reason would there be for another Analog Stick?

I have one more batch of boards to make for the first batch all In One boards so people on that list will have an email either today or tomorrow of shipment. For the 2nd Batch once I receive them I'll announce it here and open up the remaining 25 boards for sale after I test them all out.

I completely understand the "Feature creep" thats going on here. For the added analog stick, Its more of a matter of future proofing than anything. These SBC's are getting more and more powerful each year and having the I/O and form factor that can accommodate the standard PSX and N64 or even Gamecube and newer controls could be a smart idea albeit not something that is completely achievable quite yet. Generally I was hoping to use a Pi3 for more processing power with your All-In-One. I've seen a few projects on this forum that take advantage of the Pi3 so I thought why not try that.

So, when I put everything together, I can provide 5v and ground through the usb holes? Also, F1 looks like a blob of solder, is that right?

All right, I figured out what it was. I didn't have a potentiometer on it, so no connection was made. Currently I have pot 1 connected to 3 or 4, and pot 2 connected to 3 or 4 with jumper wires. I used a male to male headphone jack, one end plugged into my MP3 player, the other laying on the floor. I touched one wire to one of the top portions, and the other to the bottom, and voila! Sound! However, I still couldn't hear anything when I had it hooked up to the Pi (I think I may have very faintly heard something). I also noticed that it didn't sound amplified, compared to plugging my headphones straight into the player. This makes me think maybe the amplifier isn't amplifying it, and the faint sounds I (maybe?) heard were the un-amplified sounds from the Pi? Just as a side note, if it helps, I had the mini-USB connector connected to the wall for power.

Check you config file is setup properly and you have the correct GPIO pins wired in according to the config file. Also you might need to turn the sound up in the Emulator setup. Post some pictures of the setup so I can have a look.

Hey guys, just posting to say that the adafruit mini metal speaker [ADA1890] seems to fit the AIO board without modification. I put pads down and secured the pcb to the gameboy and there's about 1/16 of an inch clearance. Maybe put some electrical tape to be safe, but if you use an analog you'll probably have to modify as stated by helder. But those not, it seems to be OK.

+1
totally agree on this vision !

@Helder, count me in any way

but just to recap, the 2nd batch might not get all that (in particular point 4) :

1.X&Y Button Drill template
2.PWM Audio Filter
3.Headphone/Speaker Amp,
4.Atmega32U4 MCU to handle controls and Analog Stick
5.USB Hub (3 free ports,1 is connected to atmega32U4)

and it might not fit other speakers without modifications on the PCB (already planning on trimming the speaker)?

thanks again !
