Just wanted to get some help with the screen

starting my gbz project and would like like some advice on modifying this 2.5" car lcd I got from eBay(http://www.ebay.com/itm/331849412301) to work on 5v. The problem is its from China and came with a box and no instructions or schematic. Also I'm a noob so and still in the process of gathering some parts but I have a majority of items I need. Here is a pic of the lcd any advice would be greatly appreciated. Ps I got the idea of using the smaller screen by watching @freakler94's YouTube video (https://youtu.be/CFNsM9iF_S4), and also because I wanted a more stock look.

Hi there,

first, try to run it with 5v before modifying it in any way.
If this does not work, take a look at the 8 legged IC if it has any number or name written on it.
