Re: [For Sale] GBZ All In One PCB (Pre Orders)

If I may, I'd like to make a suggestion as I can see a couple things currently happening and foresee additional issues in the near future with the advent of the new PCBs being shipped out.

1) PCB All-In-One's need version names as referring to them as 1st release, 2nd pre-order, with hub, without hub, audio, etc is confusing a whole lot of people and I get the sense that most people, especially new ones don't even know what's an old board issue or fixed on the new ones, or even what one they're preordering. It doesn't matter to me what we refer to them as, but my suggestion is something like this, granted I'm not even sure if my understand is correct, so adjust as appropriate.

AIO w/o hub - v0.9
AIO v1.0 - Upgrade to people who had issues with previous boards (all shipped)
AIO v2.0 - Preorder group of 75ppl plus the (+25) reserved by Helder.

You get the idea.

2) This thread and the previous AIO this stemmed off of, has multiple version being discussed/troubleshooted in the same thread. This leads to a lot of extra work on Helder's and others end just on clarification posts. Preorder threads should remain just that.

I suggest starting a new thread wherever appropriate specifically for help/issues with the AIO PCBs and again separated by release versions due to reasons stated above. This will eliminate cross contamination of information. It will also drive the conversation towards a solution of an issue and should eliminate new comers who don't own said version number from being in a thread asking questions.

I would probably link the troubleshooting thread created in the first post so that people know where to go.

@helder

Just to clarify, if we use the capacitor workaround we also need to connect D+ and D- from the pi to the location shown in your picture?

Ignore everything else on there as that was put there as an alternate point to wire the atmega to the USB.

IF and only IF you have the controller problems ( random movements) use the capacitor fix, and there is no need to reprogram it. Any and all fixes and files are on the First Post.

Any word on when these will become available again? And also I am kinda new to all of this. If I get this I no longer need the teensy or the audio amp? What else does it cut out of the build costs?

This All in One will allow you to forgo the teensy, audio amp and the USB hub. Keep in mind, you will still, as Helder has shown in the wiring diagrams, wire audio and the USB connection to the All in One board from the Pi Zero.

Alright, I found out the source of all my previous problems (Hallelujah!): powering the board separately from the Pi. But a new (problem?) annoying thing popped up: It's very, VERY loud. To have the volume at a comfortable level, the pot needs to be at it's lowest. Sure, I could turn down the volume in the menu, but the low pot also reduces the noise's volume, so it's a trade-off between accidentally blowing my eardrums, or having more noise.

What value pot are you using? Try something lower like a 1k pot. People use 10k replacements because that's what's easily available but you can use lower values.
