USPS has set their base rate for First Class International Package too high, I agree (i think its around this for up to 8 or 9 ounces, i forget, then it jumps to around $22!). There is a cheaper First Class rate, for letters/documents, but I've been informed by the post directly that I cannot use it for rigid items. :/ I had been doing this for simple flat items, that were not documents, until the supervisor told me herself I could not do this and the sorting facility started to reject those shipmentssh4dow wrote:anyone from Germany here who want to split the shipping costs?
because 14$ shipping costs for one pcb, which costs 11.75$, is way to much... =/

Are there no other shipping companies that you could use?kitsch-bent wrote:USPS has set their base rate for First Class International Package too high, I agree (i think its around this for up to 8 or 9 ounces, i forget, then it jumps to around !). Can't use the whole 'mail it as a letter' trick anymore, they were not too keen on this...

other options would be UPS, FedEx, or DHL whose rates are never as competitive as the USPS. and, from experience, do not have any better record/security/etc to justify the increased rates.Fleder wrote:Are there no other shipping companies that you could use?kitsch-bent wrote:USPS has set their base rate for First Class International Package too high, I agree (i think its around this for up to 8 or 9 ounces, i forget, then it jumps to around !). yes, for a single item, its a bit steep (i really, really regret them changing this.... it jumped so much in their last rate adjustment). but that rate goes until 8 or 9 ounces, which is quite a bit of weight, so hopefully there will be more in the shop which will 'even it out' a bit. and, if there are other things you think would be warranted to carry in the shop to make overseas customers' shopping trips more-bang-for-the-buck, just PM me and let me know and i'll see what I can do! and, of course, combining orders together if people are located near each other is another option.Fleder wrote:I see. Do the screw holes for this pcb match up in the original gameboy and the custom cases you sell on your site?

yep! they do. there is one mounting post on the case which will be removed when the X/Y holes are drilled, and it was taken off the PCB as well.codacious wrote:Do the screw holes for this pcb match up in the original gameboy and the custom cases you sell on your site?
but, yes, they are a match. our shells and the originals are entirely internally compatible.

This may be a dumb question, but do the PCB's match with either the Gameboy Color or Gameboy Pocket as well? I haven't had the chance to measure the differences between those and the DMG.
