Just got my board in the mail. Seems to have been handled in typical Postal Service fashion but no pads were lifted so I should be able to just solder it right back on. Excited to get this project going but I am still waiting on my case, screen, volume wheel and buttons.

I sent a handful out without the headphone not soldered on so it would avoid getting damaged in the mail and is real easy to solder on so you shouldn't have any issues.

I was looking at many soldering diagrams but I cannot solve this one (again, shame on me).

I have the all in one from helder with the power strip on the bottom right and i have the adafruit power boost. Where do I put the slide power switch.
A link in the forum if there is a good picture/ diagram or anything like that would already help. I just dont want to solder and desolder the whole time accidentally breaking something. The youtube movies are just not right for me, I gotta see a diagram (or such) .

I made a simple diagram on the first post but it doesn't cover everything because I assumed people could figure the rest out......

Go to this first post and just look at what is there and wire what is missing for the slide switch, it shouldn't be hard to do and again I assume.

No worries, I wasn't concerned about it. Half expected that I would have to repair it, but this is actually better than having to fix it. Thanks again, can't wait to try it out.

The headphone jack is meant to be separate you solder it on yourself

No it's not a few have had broken/lifted pads from the bad handling of the postal service, luckily mine made it all the way to the uk in perfect condition with the headphone socket attached

On the power boost you need to connect the EN and GND to the switch depends if you want to do a safe shutdown if so follow this thread

Yeah just noticed, only saw boards with them attached and as mine was attached I just assumed they all were my bad

Just to clarify....you know, for a friend... If you connect the switch to EN and GND without the graceful shutdown, the powerboost will just immediately cut power when the switch is slid to 'off' position, right?

The drill template is actually the board itself. In the middle of the X & Y pads there are through holes. Mount the board into your case then use a drill bit through the hole to mark your case. Remove your board then enlarge the hole.

Just got my board today and it looks great except for the damage caused by the postal service Is this salvageable? I have soldering experience but when they popped the jack off its pulled a couple traces loose as well.

Edit: I looked closer and it's actually pulled the copper portion clean off the board too...

It is salvageable and I have posted an image at the end of the fist post with points on where to solder to. Also if you scrape the races you can solder to them which I circled in Orange.

Not sure this is an issue but the sound is rather quiet on the speaker side I have turned the volume in alsamixer up to 100 and it's ok but too quiet when the tv or other noises in the area of play, when using the headphones it is really loud, I have changed the speaker just in case but still the same, any way of fixing/boosting the sound from the speaker?

I used 200 ohm resistors to quiet the speaker and headphone just slightly because the headphones were really loud but it also affects the speaker. It sounded fine for me but if it sounds too low replace the resistors circled in green with 10ohm resistors, they can be normal through hole resistors.

Helder are 0.5v resistors ok?
