Hi helder

My headphone socket have 5 pin, and I've checked continuity ... everything is ok.

I would like to understand why the PAM work only when the headphone is plugged.
Could you please send us the schematics ?

Thanks
Guillaume

@helder, are you still looking for alternative USB hub chip solutions? I just came across this in OSHPark: https://openhardwarecoza.wordpress.com/ ... cb-design/

Shit this might be the issue with the speaker, I had a huge bag of left over sockets for the headphone from the last order from the manufacturer but upon further inspection it has 6 legs like yours and without the correct socket the speaker audio will likely not work which is the issue many of you are having.

The socket is PJ-328 and I will have to order a bunch and send you a new one once they arrive unless you can order 1 for yourself from some online retailer. Anyone having speaker issues please check the headphone socket if it's 5 pin or 6 pin and let me know in a PM so I can get a list going of who will need a replacement.

Try to bridge these 2 pins and see if it makes the speaker work.

Just want to say my board's headphone jack also came with 6 legs. I was wondering why it was elevated and stuck out abit. Sent you a PM Helder. AIO board is looking flawless otherwise!

Could you upload pictures of your headphone socket and speaker area?

I already ran into this project and they already reccomend to use the hub chip I use in the first post lol. Thanks anyways.

Has anyone tried replacing the C7 cap with one of the suggested replacements? I have one of them and wondered if it would fix the sound issue with headphones working but the speaker cutting out/ just playing bleeps and boops/bits and pieces of sounds?

Just as a follow up... I got brave and replaced C7 with one of the 100 cap from the pic that @helder suggested... Didn't fix the choppy speaker audio. The headphone audio was still fine. So, any other ideas?

Got my gbz all made but cannot get Roms uploaded. Tried using USB but it's saying USB mount service fail. So I got two separate wifi dongles. They keep power but no networks are recognized. I tried the fixes on the board but still no luck. Is there something I need to setup before setting it up. Really confused why I can't get it setup and it sucks having everything done and not being able to use anything. Please help if you can

Ok so if the headphone is working there are 2 possibilities that could be the issue:
1. Bad Headphone socket or soldered on badly
2. The mixing Resistors R15 and R16 are bad and not combining and letting the audio pass to speaker.

Here is a diagram of the audio points, there is definitely no issue with the Audio Ground since if that was an issue the headphones wouldn't work.
The easiest way to test the speaker output is have the Speaker - soldered to the Negative lead on the speaker and take the Positive speaker wire and touch one of the 2 speaker output pads to see if there is now audio. You can also test it out of the Left or Right Headphone In pads too to be sure the speaker is working, but the main focus is the speaker output pads.

Be sure to setup the USB speed to 1.1 like I explain in the first post editing the config.txt then most wifi dongles should work.

Well as I already said the PAM8403 stop working when the headphone is unplugged
I.e: when I plug my headphone and connect the speaker directly on the headphone socket I've got sound and when I unplugged the headphone the sound stop..

After a reverse engineering of your board I came to some conclusion:
-The stereo mixing on speaker + could short circuit the output of the PAM (Short circuit protection)
-The Ri is too low compared to specification's recommendation of the PAM8403.
-There's no noise reduction on MUTE an PWDN

I will investigate more and let you know if I find something.

So is there a way to bypass the volume wheel? On the all in one can I straight wire the in to the out for both L and R pads?
