Good news, I got an e-mail from AusPost saying that the leonardo pro micro will probably come on Thursday.

Last night I tested the battery, I'm not sure how long it is supposed to charge for, because the green light to indicate it was charged did not turn on. I decided it was full when the powerboost stopped getting hot. From that time, I got 2hr on the pi until the 'low' light came on, and 2:25hr until it turned off. Not the best battery life in the world, but better than my phone!

I tested it with Playstation 1 games, which I'll probably not play as this thing doesn't have analog sticks planned for it. If I were only playing SNES and GBA games (more likely) I would probably get at least half an hour extra out of it.

After a bit of hassle, my Leonardo Micro clone has arrived. It only took one angry email to get here!

I have almost finished wiring up the Leonardo to the controls, but I ran out of solder... Oh well, I only have the Z, select, and start buttons left to do.

Finally, I finished wiring up the button PCBS, tested it out with Retropie and it works! Image

It may look like a tangled mess, but that's just because the wires are quite stiff and don't want to bend. The DMG shell comes later this month, so final assembly can begin quite soon. Big thanks to @sotasystems for their excellent arduino code to get the controls working.

I installed piTFT and FTBT, which I was able to do through the command line. I wouldn't recommend this screen though, it took ages to get the refresh rate to a playable state, and it is a bit grainy. I'm probably going to replace it with a reversing camera like in Wermy's standard design. They cost a little bit more but seem to be much better than the ones running off GPIO, I don't think those pins have the packet rate for this high a resolution. The 3.2 and 2.8 inch gpio screens seem to work fine though.

You just have to exit out of emulation station from the start menu to get to the command line interface.
I followed this guy's instructions: https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/415 ... 0-no-brand

I also used framebuffer height and width settings to change those values to reduce the screen resolution, and set the speed to 360000.
You can do this with <sudo nano /boot/config.txt>
