Okay so I took the board off the screen and saw this on the back. Do I just connect that 5V to the DC12 and it will run 5V?

Yeah, that looks promising!
Just a tip for the soldering, don't strip the wires that long - you stripped like 1cm or more of the red wire. Strip them short, it's less likely the will touch each other!
And if you can push the wire through a hole, push it almost all the way through - to the end of the stripped part. And then cut off what's coming out from the other side, after you solder it in.

Yeah I'm a noob so I'm working on it. Also this happened so I guess this isn't a pointo I can solder to? Or maybe I'm just doing something wrong and I fucked it upn.marek wrote:Yeah, that looks promising!

Here's on of many videos on how to solder, maybe check that first and practice it.
What happened there? Did you burn the board? I can't tell if it's the flux or something else.

I can't tell the condition of the pad underneath. Practise the soldering first, and then we get back to this.
I think you should be able to locate the 5V on the opposite side of the board, it must be one of the chips, so if you can find that, we can still do this. But don't do it before you can solder properly!

Re: Which Version Screen Do I Have And How to Convert It?
Hello, I have this same screen. With the red cable only only connected to the rear 5v port.I am getting a very light image. No back light. Should I connect back to 12v and run a jumper cable to 5v ? Thanks for any help.

Here ya go! I just had to do this board the other day. Just about to head to bed, but I figured I would fire up Photoshop to help out a fellow Sudomodder.
YOU'RE WELCOME!!! Hope this helps you and I didn't reply too late.
