Re: Connecting teensy to pi0?
Can you turn the iron up higher? You're not normally supposed to do that in normal operation, but it may be that the iron's heat is being sucked up by the large ground plane, and as such the solder will not be able to melt. Adding extra solder will help as well, so be patient and don't try ripping it out or something.

Re: Connecting teensy to pi0?
Hey wermy, in your last video, you had us connect the screen to the pi0 for power and ground. If I connect the USB to the PowerBoost, should the powerboost connect to my pi0 instead?wermy wrote:E will go to 5v on your powerboost, B will go to ground. Not sure about A - is it just the shielding that's around the other wires in the USB cable? If so it may just be connected to ground as well - you can check with a multimeter.
Looking at http://www.sudomod.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=137 and his diagram shows a breakout board that he uses which I do not have unfortunately, so I am wondering what your plan is?
Thanks again, I know I am jumping a head a little...

Yep, connecting the screen's power directly to the Pi0 was just for testing. When it's all set up we'll connect the powerboost to both the Pi0 and the screen. That breakout board thing is nothing complicated, it's just a board with some copper traces on it that you can buy from radio shack for a couple bucks, similar to this: https://www.radioshack.com/collections/ ... 5717554117 . What I did was cut one of those down to size, with two parallel traces on it. I connected the powerboost to it, and that gave me two sort of power rails that I could easily connect other stuff to in stead of trying to connect everything to the same pins on the powerboost itself. That make sense?dirtybeagles wrote:Hey wermy, in your last video, you had us connect the screen to the pi0 for power and ground. Yes, I noticed the radioshack one has some of them connected in a circuit. Could I get one from amazon like this: (edit, this looks better) http://www.amazon.com/Snappable-BreadBo ... 345Y2E30RT and just connect the back with solder so they are a complete circuit?wermy wrote:Yep, connecting the screen's power directly to the Pi0 was just for testing. Re: Connecting teensy to pi0?
Yeah that would work. You can find ones with parallel connected traces right next to each other though, so it might be worth finding one like that to save yourself some soldering.dirtybeagles wrote: Yes, I noticed the radioshack one has some of them connected in a circuit. I found this which has parallel traces. Not sure if its suitable.... Hoping i can find something a bit cheaper....wermy wrote:Yeah that would work. Re: Connecting teensy to pi0?
The cheapest method is to get perfboard and copper tape, i think.
Just put the tape in rows and puncture it where you want the holes to be again, then solder over it.

Hey that's not a bad idea.Fleder wrote:The cheapest method is to get perfboard and copper tape, i think.

Really though, the one I got was I think $3 at my local radio shack. So if you have one of those or some similar store locally it might be worth a trip!

Fleder could I tap down the copper on a piece of plastic so it is not as flimsy or would that be a fire hazard?
