Alternative to powerboost for Pi 3

Hey guys,

Just wondering if anyone could help me out in finding a solution to my battery problem. I've got a Pi 3 and the gearbest screen, and I'm trying to find some sort of alternative to using a powerboost 1000c to power them. I've heard that the 1000c seems to have problems giving enough power to the Pi 3 occasionally, so this seems like its not an ideal solution. Also, the powerboost 1000c costs nearly 40$ in my country, and I'd definitely like to spend a little less than that. Not sure if there is even anything out there that will work for what I need, but I'm sure that if there is, the people on this forum will definitely know about it


I hope I'm posting this in the right subforum, I am intending to but my pi into a gameboy chassis!

Hey,

take a look into the Sudo Wiki, there are some power supplys listed. The banggood one works fine and cost only ~3,5$ (link to shop below the picture).

That banggood power supply says "Overcharge protection: 4.3V". I normally charge Lipos and Liions to 4.2V, wouldn't it be problem? Or do I need high voltage lipo 4.35V for that.

the main description says 3.7v Lipo and charges up to 4.2v so I'm not sure why it also says overvoltage protection 4.3v at any rate this board is for regular 3.7v/4.2v LiPo's not 3.8/4.35

Thanks for the suggestion Sesambrötchen, but the banggood psu only supplies 1 amp and the rpi3 needs up to 2.5. As such, I don't thing this power supply will be adequate. The only other possibility I've found is this, and it looks pretty sketchy,

Actually many people have used that banggood powerboard with a Pi3 with success and for the price it's easy to atleast consider it.
