I see a lot of Game Boy Zero's with Original Game Boy Shells, But if you think about it the GB Shell is the worst of the bunch. The Game Boy Pocket has a more pocket friendly design, Game Boy Color Is Better to hold for long periods of time, and the "Fat" Game Boy Advance's design is there to make the shoulder buttons easier to hold.
Why not make any ones with other shells??? I plan on doing a gba one once I get a pi Zero. I hope to see more non GB DMG Builds.

Re: GBZ With GBA/GBC/GBP Shell
Smaller shells require some fancy wiring and management unless you go a custom pcb way to help make things fit better. There have been people who crammed a pi2 into a GBC so anything is possible. It's nice to show off such a feat but I think you're looking for a kit of sorts to build this, right?

Re: GBZ With GBA/GBC/GBP Shell
The reason you don't see more non-DMG builds here is because this forum is mainly about DMG-based builds. Most people here are doing an iteration based on Wermy's build. Same reason you're about to see a flood of mint tin builds.
There are other options, though. These guys are about to launch a new GBA-based kit tomorrow: http://mailchi.mp/8647dd0b64d2/kickstar ... ign=buffer

Yup. Looks pretty cool, though I really don't like the way they did the X/Y buttons. They look cheezy, and hacked on, and I'm dubious about how it'll feel mixing tact switches with conductive buttons.
But.
They're also doing a CM3 version, which is pretty cool.

Re: GBZ With GBA/GBC/GBP Shell
Yeah, the X + Y buttons don't look that great, but I guess there isn't much space to work with in a GBA shell to have proper size conductive buttons? I know in their previous version they had only 2 buttons, which it actually what I would prefer, looks wise (would be nice to have extra buttons for SNES etc...).ICMF wrote: ↑Mon Jun 05, 2017 10:32 amYup.
