Get a small cheep LCD in your project https://www.sudomod.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=22&t=2312
Wrap it all round a battery https://www.sudomod.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=2292
Or use a custom PCB to make it really small https://www.sudomod.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=2512
or make it really really really really tiny!! https://www.sudomod.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=2919

I'm still trying to figure out what's wrong with mine. but everyone I've shown it to (that's into Pi's and stuff) has really liked it.

I have plenty of 0805 SMD resistors at my disposal... I found pretty much an entire reel of 330R ones at the space last week. I haven't done much extended troubleshooting TBH. I was going to swap the display for a different one first as the flicker seems a little odd...

whenever i have had issues it has been a bad joint on the pi. I think that is one of the things stopping me selling them i guess

The pi joints seem fine. I buzzed everything out and as far as I can tell they are good. It's the actual display I'm suspecting
