Re: [For Sale] L and R button Bracket
So would people be Interested if I made a little insert guide as well? It would be another piece that you slide Into the button slots, with a hole, that would help align the drill better through the guide hole in the bracket. It would be included for free obviously.
Ot perhaps just a flat piece with holes that you push up against the case?
Which would you prefer ?

Re: [For Sale] L and R button Bracket
I wonder if, when people start to get and fit these, that someone with a Kite AIO board can say if it interferes with anything when using Kite's standard installation guide.
I really like how this works and looks, but as a complete novice, I don't want to start to have to change major things from Kite's build guide, as I know it'll all go wrong for me!

Re: [For Sale] L and R button Bracket
I've already sent out quite a few so I'd love to get some feedback on this as well. So if anyone with kite board has gotten theirs, please post back.burni wrote: ↑Thu Aug 03, 2017 6:36 amI wonder if, when people start to get and fit these, that someone with a Kite AIO board can say if it interferes with anything when using Kite's standard installation guide.

From what we have discussed on this thread, kite makes you solder some spacer pieces onto the volume board, that sits on top of the screw post my bracket screw into. But you could simply just not solder on those spacer pieces, and just rest it on top of the bracket instead, accomplish the same goal. But I'd love to hear from others who have both pieces

Re: [For Sale] L and R button Bracket
I created a drill guide to help make the holes. It will be included with all orders placed 2 day ago and from here on out. Here is a link to the file if you wish to print it yourself https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2466985
Information has been edited on original post to include this new part.
This guide can technically be used for your own diy shoulders, not just for my brackets. They will provide you with evenly spaced shoulder buttons, without the fear of having one to high or too far sideways. But please note that these were design for my bracket, which uses buttons slightly larger than the original dmg buttons( larger by 1mm), so these holes will sit slightly higher than center to accomadate the larger button.
Doing my best to make sure you have a great looking project! Let me know if there are anymore questions!

Re: [For Sale] L and R button Bracket
ok, so I finally had a few minutes to start playing with your bracket and Kite's SAIO back board... As it stands, the spacers will ideally not be installed, however, there is a plug at the bottom of the board that is in the way with your bracket. I had to modify the bracket a little to make it fit, but once I did it seems to work ok. Here are the pics for reference (great bracket, btw. Hopefully to get it fully installed this weekend!):
Backboard plug that's in the way Using my dremel, I removed a bit of the plastic from the bracket (sorry, hard to show in the pic). Note, I only removed the portion that the plug touched, not all the way across, so the board could rest on it. Installed and seeming to work fine:

Thank you for letting us know! Could you post some more photos of the spot you modified so I can get a better look? Also, the part you dremeled, is the screw hole still usable ?jsawhite wrote: ↑Sat Aug 05, 2017 2:32 pmok, so I finally had a few minutes to start playing with your bracket and Kite's SAIO back board... Sure!! Hopefully it helps others out! I took some more pictures. Hopefully that helps. I know it's not pretty, but it was quick and dirty and works, so...
Oh and yes, the screw hole still works fine.

Re: [For Sale] L and R button Bracket
Any chance to get one in the EU?
Sadly I don't have access to a 3D printer.
Me and my son are going to build a GBZ the next days, cause we finally got all parts together.
This little helper would be a absolute plus to have.
Would be great if you can sell and ship one to us.
I'm shure we can fix the little glitch with kite's board ourself.
Kind regards from Berlin
Stephan

Re: [For Sale] L and R button Bracket
Hi there! I have a test shipment out and headed to Austria . It's going through so far so the only question is whether or not it is damaged, but I believe it will be fine. If you can wait about a week, then I believe I will have a revision for the bracket to work with the AIO board. Another member is sending me his board so I can test it with my bracket and make the proper adjustments. I should get that board sometimes this week, and should only take about a day to adjust. So while I'd love to take your order, I believe if you wait a week, you will be much more satisfiedlocutus2007 wrote: ↑Sun Aug 06, 2017 2:24 amAny chance to get one in the EU?
