Replacement power switch
Replacement power switch
So while following the newest guide, I broke the original power switch while trying to remove it from the board (I know, should of just cut the board). Does anyone know of a good replacement? I've seen others do their builds from just cases but couldn't find any concrete details on the switch they used.
Thanks!
Thanks!

I broke mine too. So I bought this one. It fits except you have to dremel the height of thr switch by a couple mm to fit properly into the case and the plastic flip switch button cover. Not hard to do.

Re: Replacement power switch
Sorry that switch broke for you guys. :/ I'll add some text to the video suggesting people just cut it out with a dremel, in hindsight I should have recommended that method anyway.

All three (there's six total but only using one side). The OFF pin to GPIO27. Common ground to SW GND on my Pololu. And the ON pin to other side of SW on Pololu.Kilren wrote:Which posts did you solder?Popcorn wrote:I broke mine too. So I bought this one. No sweat. It was partly my ghetto soldering gun mixed with impatience. Also. It probably would have helped if I had that solder sucker thingy you got.wermy wrote:Sorry that switch broke for you guys. :/ I'll add some text to the video suggesting people just cut it out with a dremel, in hindsight I should have recommended that method anyway.

Re: Replacement power switch
I broke mine too lol but that was before wermy posted the vid. I put off my build until I get a decent soldering iron, solder sucker, the extra hand thing wermy used to hold the mobo and a few other stuff. I won't be able to sleep at night knowing I burnt or killed something that could've been saved with a few bucks. Maybe I'll just use my old soldering iron for welding plastic.Popcorn wrote:No sweat. Re: Replacement power switch
@Popcorn did you have to do any modding to the pololu switch in the case?

Re: Replacement power switch
The Pololu switch is the electronic switch for my graceful shutdowns. Its not a physical switch so no modding is done on it. Is that what you mean?Topher wrote:@Popcorn did you have to do any modding to the pololu switch in the case?
