3.5" Display to RPi 2

Post by WadeBrody » Tue May 31, 2016 5:54 pm

I was planning on doing a portable like the one in his walkthrough videos on how to make one with a raspberry pi zero. But I wanted to make one with a raspberry pi 2 on the inside. I was going to get rid of the ethernet port and the usb ports to make it smaller. But my real question was: How do I hook up the 3.5" TFT Adafruit display to the raspberry pi 2? He showed it on the zero, not the 2. I just don't know what test points to solder to for the 5V, ground, and the white and yellow wires? Thanks for the feedback and support.

You want PP24 on the bottom of the pi (it's right around where the headphone jack is). PP6, also right around there, is ground.

Doing the RPi2 too, couldn't get a hold on the Pi0. You should have a look at this guys RPi2 project. http://www.sudomod.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=55 Great ideas for modifications!

Getting a hold of the RPi0 isn't very difficult now if you have a little bit of patience and keep watching the sellers (adafruit, pihut, and pimoroni). They are getting new stock (about 20-50k) each week.

Actually just got a Pi0 in from Pimoroni and ordered an extra one from them as wel. Now I'm waiting for my screen to come in. Completely ruined my first screen while trying to get it work on 5V. Now chose one that suppose to work of 5V without mods.
