gday guys, i have been looking at the battery level pcb that helder is making for the minty pi button pcb. i know that long hold on the lower left push button, and using L and R changes volume, but i only ever short press for select button to accept menu options.
is there any reason i couldnt use this same button as a long press to trigger safe shut down?

and i dont think thats gonna work.....
as its already wired to the gpio, and you do really need that button for the menus in retropie setup for example, and ultimately using in a game .... like starting the game.....
this will also be the same for the other button (select).... as you'll need this to exit games and again is already wired to the gpio
only option is to add another button....

ah just figured if it was a long hold or if there was pins on the button that werent connected...the spare two of the 4...

thats not how it works....
the volume controls are done within retroarch, the shutdown doesnt work that way....
just so that you know, those arent spare pin there just pins of that give you an option of which side to wire from
(if the opposite side is already connected, its not spare)
