Re: mintyPi Screen
Directly to what pcb? If you're buying the screen separately, I'm assuming you don't mean Helder's pcb? How good are your soldering skills? The pins on that board are very small...

Re: mintyPi Screen
Well you have 2 issues. 1- that screen has the touch panel on it so you'll have to pry it off or it won't fit in the plastic parts. Also you'll have 4 pins that become useless for the same reason. 2 - You can't solder it directly to the board, you need to solder it to wires and as mentioned, the pins are tiny and don't take kindly to repeated attempts, so ultimately the question of "can you use that screen" is up to you and your faith in your own soldering skills.
Also, the word is "solder." It's just that Americans make it sound like "sodder" when they say it!

Re: mintyPi Screen
Hey Holydohnut, what kind of 2.4 inch screen do you reccomend? i would like for it to fit in the plastic parts and have a easy-medium difficulty to solder. soldering with wires will not be an issue.
thanks
thanks

here the same screen without the touch panel (just saves your from removing)

if your using it to replace a screen from Helders kit, its perfectly fine.....
if your doing it DIY, then have a look at my attempt (it may be of some help)....

Re: mintyPi Screen
You want an ili9341, but without the touch. 2.4's can be tricky to come by, but they are out there. 2.2's are much easier to find and wermy has made a set of stl files for that one. As long as it's an ili9341, it'll work with wermy's retropie image.
